Firstly, and most importantly, all students arrived safely yet enthusiastic. After arriving one of the language teachers served us a nice lunch upon arrival, giving just a sample of the scents and tastes of the south of France. After orientation and ice breakers we ate at a pizza/pasta restaurant which they seemed to enjoy very much. Some were quite courageous to try different foods that they hadn't tasted in the US. After a nice promenade in the o ld city (and tasting delicious ice cream) we all returned to the residence ready for sleep.
Today I am happy to say that all students arrived on time for breakfast and their French placement tests. After lunch the students learned how to play petanque, a popular regional lawn bowling game and then we went to the beach to test out the temperature of the Mediterranean - Aaaahh! So refreshing! After dinner we visited the port and walked along the promenade. I am sure you will see many beautiful and fun pics that your children took. Tomorrow we are climbing the hill to see the chateau and then heading to the beach to play volleyball. Oh yes, how could I forget that prior to that they will actually be in a class and in the community for 3 hours, learning a most beautiful language. Are you jealous yet? That's all for now. Feel free to call at any time. Sincerely, Margaret
